Purpose
& Role
Carry out hands-on work to maintain and improve the South Perry District’s physical environment.
Key
Responsibilities
- Participate in maintenance activities (tree lighting, pruning, cleanup, signage upkeep, banner installation).
- Support seasonal projects and improvement efforts.
- Identifying maintenance needs.
Time
Commitment
1–4 hours per month, often seasonal or project-based.

Join the Community Events Committee!

Purpose & Role
Support the execution of community events that activate the South Perry District.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with event setup, coordination, and breakdown.
- Take on specific roles depending on the event (logistics, check-in, vendor support, etc.).
- Help recruit additional volunteers.
- Provide feedback for future events.
Time Commitment
Varies by event; typically a few hours per event.

Established Events
Tabling Opportunities: share your love of South Perry with your neighbors and friends at Pride in Perry or weekly at the Thursday Markets.
Community Happy Hours: Do you have an affinity for planning small community gatherings? Help us plan and host our happy hour events.
Very Scary Perry: Join us in the district for specials at the businesses and trick or treating!
Very Merry Perry: Hot beverages, Santa photo-ops, and tree lighting – help us make this season bright.
South Perry Street Fair: This may be an opportunity to show your organizational skills, help set up and tear down, practice your photography skills at the photo booth, or collaborate with partners to make the Kids Zone fun! This annual event is South Perry Together’s largest fundraiser and biggest event with myriad ways to be involved.

Who can volunteer?
Anyone who is over the age of 16 and is flexible and team-oriented, willing to help where needed, and community minded. Youth under the age of 16 may volunteer with a parent present.

How much time do I need to commit?
Varies by event; typically a few hours per event.

Are volunteers required to attend meetings?
Volunteers may need to attend planning meetings leading up to the event, or can choose to volunteer in a different capacity if attending meetings isn’t your thing.

Can businesses or organizations volunteer as a group?
Yes, we welcome your group! Reach out directly to vicepresident@southperry.org to discuss opportunities.

Are volunteer opportunities family-friendly?
We welcome volunteers of all ages. We ask that any volunteer under the age of 16 be accompanied by parental supervision.
