Our Story
Bringing people together for our district.
Our organization began in 1999 as the South Perry Business Association, formed by local business owners who wanted to revitalize the neighborhood, support economic development, and encourage visitors to slow down and shop. Within the next decade, the organization expanded beyond business advocacy to focus on neighborhood connection and collective leadership.
In 2024, our organization decided to refresh our brand to better reflect our mission and community focus. Members agreed that when we distill down the association’s identity, our primary purpose is to bring people together in our district. This created the new name that defines us: South Perry Together.
Our Mission
Supporting South Perry District
The mission of South Perry Together is to support and strengthen neighbors in the district and surround community, creating welcome experiences that bring joy and positivity to enrich our community. We support local businesses, build meaningful relationships between residents and local institutions, and foster a vibrant neighborhood where people can live, work, play, and worship.
We fulfill our mission by creating strategies for attracting new businesses and residents, uplifting the institutions already here, and ensuring South Perry remains an attractive, healthy, and thriving place for generations to come.

20+ years of the South Perry Street Fair
Since 1999, our organization has hosted this landmark event, welcoming up to 8,000 people per year.
Nearly every storefront occupied
Thanks to our efforts the South Perry district is a sought after place for Spokane businesses to operate.
Donations to local schools and non-profits
We support children and families at Grant Elementary School and donate to non-profits whose work benefits our district.
ARPA funding secured to support improvements
In 2025, our organization secured American Rescue Plan Act funding through the City of Spokane to invest in improving and beautifying our district.
Strengthening South Perry’s identity and visibility
With ARPA funding, we have enabled the installation of year-round holiday lighting, public art and murals, artist-designed signage, and more.
Connecting and promoting community growth
Our roster of recurring free events brings our community together and increases visibility and revenue for South Perry businesses.

Our work is made possible through collaboration with local business owners, property owners, schools, volunteers, and civic partners. We work closely with Grant Elementary School, the Thursday Market, and the City of Spokane to support shared goals and long-term success.

Meet the Board
Board & Leadership
South Perry Together is led by a dedicated group of volunteers who live in, work for, and care deeply about the district. All board members bring unique skills and perspectives, united by a shared commitment to strengthening the neighborhood and building meaningful connections within the community.
Lily Booth
Board President
Lily has lived in Spokane since 2017 and is a proud resident of the South Perry neighborhood. Lily brings a diverse background of project management, event planning, and committee leadership to her role on the Board. In her free time, she can be found working on new sewing projects, riding her bike to the Thursday Market, or doing crossword puzzles at her favorite local watering holes.
Sammi Day
Vice President
Sammi and her husband Jeremy have lived in the South Perry Neighborhood since 2021. Sammi brings experience in human resources, project management, events coordination and administration to the South Perry Together Board. In her free time, Sammi can be found walking her dogs around the neighborhood, hanging out at Perry Street Brewing, racing in regional triathlons, or quietly reading.
Michelle Weaver
Past President
Michelle has lived in the South Perry District since 2007 and joined the Board in mid-2020, serving first as Vice President then as President. Her leadership style has been defined by a commitment to collaboration and partnership with neighbors, local businesses, and the City as a means of strengthening the community, bringing people together, and helping South Perry thrive. She and her wife enjoy every aspect of the district, including its people, diversity, neighborhood strolls, amazing food, delightful shops and businesses, Grant park, the kids at the elementary school, and the Thursday Market. Michelle works as a self-employed consultant in human services, fulfilling her passion for advocating for marginalized people and communities. Outside of work, she loves extended travel, outdoor adventures, and woodworking.
Linda Brock
Secretary
Linda and her husband Mark became part of the South Perry neighborhood in 2025 and immediately fell in love with its wonderful diversity of people, community organizations, businesses and events. Linda’s professional background is in consulting with and training school personnel to use critical education data systems. In her private time, Linda has served as Secretary or Board President for organizations as varied as a municipal service district, a community theater, a food co-op, and a Montessori school. You are likely to find her and her husband walking the neighborhood, enjoying a meal or a drink at any of South Perry’s great hangouts, or greeting passersby (and their dogs!!) while reading on their front porch.
Jarrod Swanson
Treasurer
Jarrod has lived in Spokane for the majority of his life. He’s lived in almost every area of Spokane but South Perry has always had his heart. He’s recently moved back with his wife, dog (Carl) and cat (Lucy). You can catch him playing volleyball, walking his dog, drinking coffee at The Shop or enjoying his favorite meal at South Perry Pizza. Jarrod is very excited to learn from his predecessors on the Board and work towards making South Perry even more unforgettable.
Amanda Dutra
Outreach & Engagement Chair
Amanda and her husband Martin moved to Spokane in 2023 to be closer to their grandchildren. After renting in the Perry District they fell in love with the community, the ability to walk to the bookstore, coffee shops, restaurants and parks. Amanda enjoys perusing local thrift stores, hiking, biking, yoga and spending time with new friends in Spokane. Now retired, Amanda held positions in Management and Human Resources consulting.
Olivia Lopez
Community Events Chair
Olivia is a passionate community volunteer who believes in supporting local businesses and creating welcoming spaces that celebrate the South Perry community. Her volunteer experience spans both Spokane and Seattle, including Pacific Northwest Ballet, Northwest String Summit, and Maddie’s Place. When not volunteering, she enjoys photography, baking and traveling with her beloved senior dog, June, who is never far from her side.
Stephen Peregoy
Stewardship & Maintenance Chair
Born and raised in Spokane, Stephen left in 2014 but returned to put down roots in South Perry, moving into the neighborhood in March 2026. Stephen, his wife, and their two dogs (Winston and Addie) love the neighborhood’s walkability and vibrant community. Stephen’s background spans over a decade serving as a Navy electrician aboard submarines, a firefighter, and a landscaper before starting his career as an electrical Project Engineer. As Chair of Stewardship and Maintenance, Stephen’s goal is to continue caring for the neighborhood and to foster connection by getting neighbors involved in volunteer opportunities. Outside of work, he’s an avid outdoorsman and loves tackling yard projects with his wife.

South Perry Together is open to all who have an interest in our district. We welcome all those who live, work, play, or worship in the neighborhood. Membership is free and is earned by attending three SPT meetings in a six month period. Join our mailing list and receive information on meeting location and times as well as other South Perry events.
